This component is designed for college sophomores, juniors, seniors and graduate students to enhance their competitiveness as they prepare to apply to schools or programs of dentistry, medicine, pharmacy, occupational therapy and physical therapy. GUIDE includes a review for either the Dental Admissions Test (DAT), the Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT), the Pharmacy College Admissions Test (PCAT) or the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) for allied health. Additionally, preparation for the application and interviewing process including mock interviews; shadowing in health care clinics and/or research laboratories.
In order to qualify for GUIDE you must:
be a U.S. citizen
be a resident of West Virginia
have a disadvantaged status (underrepresented minority, financial, and/or first-generation college bound)
be a undergraduate sophomore, junior, senior or graduate student seeking admission into the school/program of dentistry, medicine, pharmacy, occupational therapy or physical therapy
Term: 8 weeks starting May 18 and running through July 3, 2020.
Two Phases - The first phase is a one week, hands-on experience and prep portion on campus, followed by a one week shadowing portion in your home town. The second phase is a six-week, home based admissions test preparation portion. You will have live online reviews that you do from the comfort of your own home.
Location: The 2020 year will be online, more information has been given to the applicants.
